This
is one famous building, who has not heard of it, please raise your hand. It was
one of the tallest buildings many years ago. Looks like some sort of Pagoda doesn't it? Before it was named Taipei 101 was
Taipei World Financial Centre. It’s a green building, not because the building
is green but the meaning was about the design of building for environmental
architecture. It was said it was designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes
for such a high building. Fantastic is it not?
It seems, Taipei 101 has got 101 floors above ground and
5 floors underground. Doesn’t it mean it
has 106 levels? Why not call it 106 instead? Never mind that, it was named 101,
and 101 it is then.
Here
are some pictures of the day view and also the night view of Taipei 101
building.
There
are restaurants and has a large food court inside, many variety, from local
cuisine to Japanese to English and others. I am sorry but I forgot to snap a
photo for you. It was really packed with people queuing up for their food. I
was busy deciding what I could try out and queuing for food.
